Paddle Expo 2019

Paddle Expo, the worlds biggest kayaking trade show, has been happening last month in Nürnberg, Germany. We take a 3 day break from instructing and guiding to go and work with the team on the Peak UK stand showing dealers and retailers the 2020 season equipment. With visitors to the stand coming from as far away as Chile, it is a great way to show new innovations, such as kayaking jackets and pants becoming more eco-friendly using a yarn made out of re-cycled plastic bottles. This innovation, coupled with Peak UK’s non plastic packaging and their Peak Eco Project won the special jury prize.

When we talk of all time classics, the River Guide PFD is certainly in that category. We have been using these buoyancy aids for many years and in some of the most spectacular places on the planet.
They have also seen improvement with slight refinement to detail, of course new colours and they also now come in female versions with the same great fit as its sister - the River Wrap.

Every now and again we managed to escape the stand and go for a little explore to see what is new in the world of whitewater kayaking. It’s great to get a chance to speak to some of our kayak and paddle providers that we are so happy to have in our kayak school.

Of course we get to catch up with friends from all around the continent throughout the 3 days. However, the first evening is a great one on the stand, with home made (in the Peak UK factory) Real Ale and of course with Pete’s topical names it makes for plenty of conversation and debate!

The 3 days flew bye and back home we enjoyed the late Autumn kayaking season at Base Arlberg in Austria, also our India Himalayas Class 4 trip has just finished. You can see more photos of our courses and trips this Autumn on our Instagram page and on our Facebook page.

Finally we have just sent out our newsletter (number 2 of the year!!) with our 2020 dates. Not only does it contain the dates but also some fantastic photos of the courses for our upcoming season. It includes the stunning Soca River in Slovenia, something that is not available on our website!

We will also be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next year and of course some BIG plans so to find out more just scroll down to the bottom of the page and sign up to our newsletter, we promise we will not bombard you!!!
