The Kali River forms the border between India and Nepal. With the lack of road access and lush jungle makes this river a complete wilderness journey. The first few days are ideal for getting used to the rivers character. As we travel down this amazing river we camp on pristine sandy beaches and tackle some great rapids (Class II-III) all the while improving our technique as well as our understanding of the river and its character making it ideal for anyone looking not only for a solid foundation but to become more confident in whitewater.
The Kali Improvers Kayak Trip to India is ideal for anyone looking to improve their technique and confidence while having a feeling of being in such a beautiful and wild setting!
This is an outdoor wilderness experience in a league of its own!

Instructors / Team
The instructor team at Kayak School Arlberg is second to none! We have been exploring, teaching kayaking and leading expeditions in Northern India for the past 6 years. Steve has also soloed the Tsarap Chu and Zanskar Expedition during the summer melt at the beginning of August!
All of our instructors and trip leaders have wilderness first aid and vast experience in remote and wilderness locations.
Accommodation and Food
While in Delhi we will be staying at select accommodation based on twin sharing chosen by ourselves. On the river we will be sleeping on pristine sandy beaches in quality tents.
In Delhi there are plenty of choices of restaurants to suit every palette!
While on the river we will be eating wholesome tasty food, not all Indian food is fiery hot! Our support staff will introduce to Indian food that is full of flavour, they also make some great Western and Chinese cuisine! Naturally all food will be fresh and hygienically prepared.
Water on the river will be treated to make it safe for drinking.
Our support teams Rum and / or Fruit Punch is the perfect evening drink while sitting around the open fire telling tales of rapids run!
You should have had some experience in a kayak both on the lake and on easy whitewater - class II.
If you have a friend or relative that would like to come down the river but in a more leisurely manner then there are places available on rafts.
A basic standard of fitness will be an advantage as we will be kayaking for around 4 to 5 hours a day. This gives us time to explore the jungle, check out the mountain views, try to catch a huge Mahseer fish or just kick back and let life and time drift on by!
The maximum number of clients for the trip will be 12.
We will have a ratio of no more than 4 clients:1 kayak instructor
On the river we will have 2-3 extra safety kayakers with us.
Rafts will be along with the trip too!
